Together with CommUnity by InnoEnergy Eindhoven we hosted the first E2I TALKS (Entrepreneur to Innovation) on Thursday Sept 13 between 5-9pm. Entrepreneurs, professionals, students and sustainability enthusiasts enjoyed the 5 insightful speakers, 15 minute talks and discussion afterwards on the topic of The Circular Economy in Energy.

Marc Horsten (Brink) discussed that by setting up high(er) ambitions, the municipality hopes to inspire others to focus on making buildings more sustainable. Sebastian Perez Prat (Brainport Smart District) discussed the challenge of implementing circular economy in the built environment, specially in the housing sector. Irina van der Hoorn (Ecofys) talked about recent developments in circular economy policies and on how these impact business interest. We will need to accelerate the transition towards a sustainable energy sector and a circular economy. But how do these topics relate to each other? Maarten Schäffner (Witteveen + Bos) provided us with examples from the wind- and car industry. Marinke Wijngaard (TNO) gave an introduction to how creation of circular value chains can substantially prevent greenhouse emissions and this way deliver a quarter of the Paris climate goals.
